Executive Staff

Judith Cody

Executive Director

Beverly Children’s Learning Center has been fortunate to have Judy at the helm since 2012. Prior to that, Judy worked as the CFO of BCLC for 12 years. Judy holds a BA in psychology, a BA in accounting,and a certificate in human services management. Having passed the CPA exam in 1999, she brings the type of financial skills necessary to grow this organization.

Since taking over as Executive Director, Judith has brought stability to BCLC by purchasing and renovating the building at 550 Cabot Street, giving the center a permanent home.

Lisa Deschenes

Director of Education

Lisa has been the Director of Education at the Beverly Children’s Learning Center since 2013. Lisa holds an BA in Early Education, MA in Education and Art, post-masters in Early Education Research and she is currently finishing her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership in Pre-K through 12 Program at Endicott College.

At BCLC, Lisa spearheads curriculum, coordinates services for children and facilitates family engagement by collaborating with local businesses and nonprofits to provide enriching family activities for families. In addition, she is an adjunct professor in the Early Education department at Endicott College. Lisa has been in the field of education for 30 years – formerly a classroom teacher, as well as an Executive Director.

Elizabeth Erikson

Director of Philanthropy

Elizabeth joined BCLC in 2019 – acting as its first Director of Philanthropy. Elizabeth has a BS in Psychology with a minor in Communications. She oversees the fundraising efforts of the organization – including both donor relations and seeking Foundational grant support. She has been in executive leadership in Philanthropy for 5 years. 

“It has been my pleasure to raise support for such a worthy organization. Getting to see the many opportunities given to the children attending BCLC inspires me to leave no stone unturned. It’s truly many children’s home away from home!”

Program Directors

Our team of administrators oversees the daily operation of BCLC and works closely with our educators and support staff to coordinate services, implement a quality curriculum, maintain  licensing regulations, attain higher levels in the Massachusetts Quality Rating and Improvement System, connect with the community, assist families accessing services and resources, create family engagement opportunities, and coach, mentor, and supervise educators and support staff.

Our dedicated Board, which consists of new faces, long term members, and  a second generation member volunteer their time as the governing body for our organization. Coming from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including banking, finance and insurance, city council, law, student special needs services, business, human resources, and social services, our Board commits their time to ensuring that our mission is at the forefront of our endeavors.

BCLC Preschool/Infant/Toddler Educators

Our team of Preschool/Infant/Toddler educators ensures that each classroom meets or exceeds the Department of Early Education and Care’s regulations on teacher/child ratios. Our educated, experienced educators are individuals who go above and beyond each and every day to create a program of best practice, to achieve excellence, to recognize and foster the potential of every child, and to embrace the diversity of all of their students and families. Our educators are committed to continuing the advancement of their education.

BCLC After School Age Educators

Our team of After School Age educators help to create an experience for our elementary age children, which is positive, engaging, educational, and rewarding. The School Age educators work with families, the public schools’ adjustment councilors, and outside agencies to help ensure smooth transitions and consistency among all services. Our educators are committed to continuing the advancement of their education.

BCLC Transportation Staff

Our transportation staff are a team of licensed drivers and monitors who help coordinate the daily pick-up and drop-off of our students, while ensuring that safety practices are a top priority with our precious passengers. Drivers and monitors are committed to participating in ongoing trainings, maintaining their vehicles, and keeping current with new regulations.

BCLC Chef

BCLC has an onsite chef who provides the Center with healthy, nutritious meals each day, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner for our school age children. Our chef implements the distribution of these meals to each classroom, ensures that the meals are in compliance with temperature requirements, meet the nutritional guidelines, and adhere to the monthly menu. The chef also orders kitchen supplies and maintains all health and safety standards for the food service.
